NEWS FROM TAGEM EAR TAGS

There has been a great deal happening at TAGEM (a division of Ramsay Engineering) in recent months with the launch of laser marking, a new look feedlot ear tag, new packaging as well as involvement in the use of the reflective ear tag- Vizitag, for the tagging of donkeys in Botswana.

THE NEW LASERED AND FEEDLOT EAR TAG RANGES!

Tagem has introduced laser marking to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the ear tagging process. The farmer can choose to have the tags branded with the farm logo, a QR barcode added or an alphanumeric sequence. The overall result being fewer errors in the tagging process and fewer errors in the identification of each animal! The tags are more legible (no struggling to read handwriting) and the ink will not fade over time. The tag can have a logo or numbers on both sides of any of the range of ear tags, with the print guaranteed for the life of the animal. Any of the12 colours can be lasered.

The new look TAGEM feedlot ear tag is designed to allow for more writing/printing and is also much less likely to snag.

NEW LOOK PACKAGING
The revised packaging is made of a much higher quality plastic packaging which is clearly branded. The bags are easier to display and the stock inside more secure.

TAGEM’S VIZITAG SAVES LIVES
TAGEM is an active supporter of the MAWS (Maun Animal Welfare Society) Donkey ear tagging project in Botswana. In December 2013/January 2014 period, 1000 donkeys were tagged with 2000 Vizitag reflective ear tags in the rural areas of Botswana.

With more than 300 000 donkeys in Botswana and one in ten of the accidents on the roads involving domestic animals such as donkeys, the objective of the project is to increase the visibility of the donkeys at night; reducing the number of accidents and also protecting these valuable assets for the communities. Commented Ally Lamb of MAWS, “… the tags are working beautifully as the attached images show.”
